Wix app — Australia Post Shipping

GoRoute: Australia Post Shipping shows live Australia Post rates at your Wix checkout and prints labels on your own MyPost Business account. When a label is made, the tracking number is written back to the Wix order as a fulfilment.

It is for businesses in Australia sending parcels within Australia. Rates and labels are your own MyPost Business prices, and labels are paid to Australia Post with the card stored in MyPost Business or your charge account. GoRoute issues no invoices from this app; that is the separate GoRoute Peppol E-Invoicing app.

What you need

  • A Wix store with Wix Stores.
  • A MyPost Business account with Australia Post.
  • A GoRoute account. You can create one during set-up.

Set-up

The app opens on Set-up, five steps in order.

  1. Connect your GoRoute account. A new tab opens GoRoute's consent page. Sign in, or create an account there, and approve. Your GoRoute organisation's country must be Australia.
  2. Connect your MyPost Business account. A new tab opens Australia Post's sign-in. Sign in to MyPost Business and approve GoRoute. The dashboard updates by itself when you come back.
  3. Where parcels leave from. The sender on every label. Checkout prices are worked out from this postcode.
  4. What checkout offers. Choose MyPost Business: Parcel Post, Express Post or both. Wix sends a weight but no size, so checkout prices every order as one parcel in the box you enter here. Australia Post charges a large, light parcel on its cubic weight (250 kg per cubic metre once it is over 1 kg), so enter the box you usually use. You can add a handling fee to each rate and choose how labels are paid.
  5. Switch the rates on in Wix. In your Wix dashboard go to Settings → Shipping & fulfillment, open the region that covers Australia, choose Manage your apps and switch on GoRoute: Australia Post Shipping. Wix asks for a backup rate. Buyers see it only when Australia Post cannot be asked.

At checkout

When a buyer adds to the cart or changes their address, Wix asks the app for rates. The app asks Australia Post for the price of the parcel to the buyer's postcode, from your sender postcode, on your account. It answers with each service you offer that Australia Post can carry for that parcel.

  • Rates are offered to addresses in Australia, in Australian dollars.
  • A price is kept for ten minutes per postcode and weight, so a buyer changing quantities does not wait each time.
  • If Australia Post cannot be asked, the buyer sees your backup rate rather than an error.

Labels

Shipments lists your paid, unfulfilled orders to Australia. Create label:

  1. creates the shipment with Australia Post, which assigns the tracking number;
  2. buys the label, with your stored card or charge account;
  3. makes the label PDF, under Print label;
  4. marks the Wix order fulfilled with the tracking number and a link to Australia Post's tracking page.

The service is the one the buyer chose at checkout; for an order placed with another shipping rate, it is the service you choose in step 4. The weight band (up to 5 kg, or 5 to 22 kg) follows the parcel's chargeable weight.

If a step fails, the order stays in the list with Australia Post's reason. Fix the order (for example, the buyer's address) and press Finish label. The app carries on from the step that failed and never buys a second label for the same order.

Good to know

  • International parcels need customs details per item. Create those in GoRoute's Shipping page in the web portal.
  • Australia Post emails the receiver tracking updates to the email on the order.
  • Disconnecting GoRoute stops checkout rates and labels until you connect again. Labels already bought stay in MyPost Business.
